Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 26, 2026

Shadowsrocket is developed and distributed by STORM VPN CO., LTD. Shadowsrocket uses a local-first design. This version has no user account system and contains no advertising, behavioral analytics, crash reporting, or developer-operated cloud service.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

To provide connection features, Shadowsrocket stores imported subscription addresses, proxy profiles, authentication information, routing rules, rule sets, and related configuration on your device. Connection status, node latency, and sanitized diagnostic information are used only for local display and troubleshooting.

Shadowsrocket does not automatically upload this information to the developer. Sensitive configuration is protected by the application sandbox, Keychain, or equivalent operating-system storage where supported.

2. VPN and Network Traffic

When you connect, Shadowsrocket uses the iOS VPN capability to process network traffic and sends it directly or through the proxy node you selected. The developer does not operate a relay service and does not receive or retain your browsing content.

Your proxy provider, DNS provider, and destination services may receive information required for the connection, such as source IP address, destination address, time, and traffic characteristics. Their own privacy policies govern that processing.

3. Requests You Initiate

When you add or refresh a subscription, Shadowsrocket requests the HTTPS address you provide. Remote rule sets, latency tests, and connectivity tests contact the corresponding third-party services only when needed for the feature you choose. Those services may log requests under their own policies.

4. Device Permissions

VPN permission is used to create the system network tunnel. Camera permission is requested only when you choose to scan a QR code and is used on the device to recognize configuration content. Shadowsrocket does not upload camera images to the developer.

5. Collection, Sharing, and Sale

Shadowsrocket does not transmit personal data to the developer. The developer therefore does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers. Services that you configure or visit receive network information directly as necessary to complete your requested connection.

6. Retention, Deletion, and Security

Local configuration remains until you delete it in Shadowsrocket or uninstall the app. Whether operating-system backups include app data depends on your device settings. You can delete subscriptions and profiles in the app, or remove sandboxed app data by uninstalling Shadowsrocket. Stop the VPN connection before deleting the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Shadowsrocket is not directed to children and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Minors should use network services only with the awareness of a parent or guardian and in accordance with local rules.

8. Changes and Contact

If Shadowsrocket changes how it processes data, this policy will be updated with the related app version and effective date. Privacy questions can be sent through the public support contact published in the Support section above.
